On March 1st elementary STUCO (grades 3-6) launched a book drive to help fill Free Little Libraries in our community. They made posters, talked to their classmates, and started collecting. This was all kid work -- staff did not send home fliers or put it on our social media. Yesterday the STUCO members brought the books that their classmates collected to their monthly meeting - there were nearly 1,000 books collected!! Shout out to Mrs. Hill's class for collecting over 200 books! Great work 3rd-6th graders! Your donations will impact our community!

We're off!
High school music students are on their way to the airport and then...FLORIDA!!

Today was a great day to use the outdoor classroom. Fourth graders did the "sugar cube shake" erosion project in the beautiful weather!

Hats off to Mr.Baird, who encouraged two of his high school students, Eli Jennings and Amarion Holub, to present a pre-K lesson. The students traveled to the Assaria Lutheran Church. The Little Tots Preschool is led by Ms. Trudy, and she supervised Amarion and Eli's lesson as well. We love to see these connections being made in our community!

Infield Turf installation has begun for softball at Southeast of Saline.

We have some State Football Shirts left for sale. The prices are per item and first come, first served.

JH 7th grade scholars’ bowl wrapped up their season at Sacred Heart with a gold medal tonight, in a hard fought championship round, ending on a math tie breaker. They had to beat Manhattan Catholic who gave them troubles yesterday at St. John's Beloit. At St. John's they went 6-3 for 4th place in the tough 16 team tournament. They end their season with 6 gold medals and 2 silvers.
The 8th graders had 2 close losses that kept them from advancing to finals at Sacred Heart. However, last night at St. John's they went 7-0 in pool play, before falling in finals twice, to take 4th place of the 16 team tourney. They end their season with 2 silver medals.

I heard some beautiful music this morning and had to go check it out. 5th graders making great progress on their ukuleles. It was amazing!

Another reason to love Southeast of Saline. Today, two of Mr. Baird's current students (Eli Jennings & Amarion Holub) presented a lesson to Mrs. McBride's kindergarten class. Eli and Amarion did a great job! Mr. Baird was also reunited with two former students, one of those former students being Mrs.McBride, and Sterling Harp was the other former student. So much fun was happening today!
