Information: The Distinguished Scholarship Invitational (DSI) is one of the largest undergraduate scholarships awarded in Kansas.  The competition will take place in mid-November.   The student must submit application materials to WSU by October 15, 2020, with scholarship applications due November 1.

Must be a US citizen, a KS resident, meet the required family household income requirements, and have graduated from KS high school in the last 12 months.

Information:  The Kansas Promise Act Scholarship is a last dollar scholarship, meaning that a student may receive a scholarshp in the aggregate amount of tuition, required fees, ooks, and materials minus all other gift aid (grants and scholarships). This scholarship may be used for up to a lifetime total of 68 credit hours funded or $20,000 per student, whichever occurs first. Students may pursue more than one program, but are required to complete an eligible program within 36 months of the first semester they received their first award. The educational institution will determine eligibility for the KS Promise and the amount of your award based ont he cost of the program you have chosen.

Information: The Hagan Scholarship is a nationwide need-based merit scholarship designed to help rural students graduate college debt-free. The scholarship provides up to $48,000 over four years to attend college and other benefits. Recipients must graduate from one of over 6,300 eligible public high schools. Hagan Scholars from 43 states currently attend 378 colleges and universities.

Information:  The Rudd Scholarship is a Kansas program for Kansas residents who qualify for a Pell Grant and gives preference to first-generation and underrepresented students. The Rudd Scholarship is a competitive, 4-year award designed to pay any remaining costs associated with tuition and fees, books and supplies, and room and board after accounting for all other grants, scholarships, and financial awards. It can be applied only towards studies at either Emporia State University, Fort Hays State University, or Wichita State University for full-time students in pursuit of an undergraduate degree provided a student maintains the renewal criteria below.

Information: The Kansas Farm Bureau Foundation for Agriculture was formed in 1998 and since its inception, the foundation has awarded hundreds of thousands of dollars to provide scholarships and grants which fund programs and projects designed to help improve agriculture and the quality of life in rural Kansas. The three areas of emphasis and action are: 

  • Develop leaders who understand the importance of agriculture in making sure Kansas’ rural communities remain strong and vital

  • Educate Kansans (especially those who live in our cities and suburbs) about how agriculture plays such an important role in their daily lives

  • Provide scholarships for students who desire to pursue their life's work in agriculture

Information:  

The Kansas County Clerks' and Election Officials' Association awards scholarships annually to Kansas high school seniors and college freshmen and sophomores, provided they carry a minimum 3.0 GPA.

The scholarships are for those students who major in Journalism, Political Science, Communications, or Business.  This scholarship has been in place for several years and was started by the funds the KCCEOA received from the Associated Press and major news outlets for election night reporting. The bulk of the funding now comes from donations and from funds received through a silent auction held annually at the spring conference of the association. Conference participants bring items either donated or purchased for the auction and the conference attendees bid on them throughout the conference.

This scholarship program has awarded hundreds of scholarships to the youth of Kansas over the years and hopes to continue to do so in the years to come.

Information:  The Kansas Promise Act Scholarship is a last dollar scholarship, meaning that a student may receive a scholarshp in the aggregate amount of tuition, required fees, ooks, and materials minus all other gift aid (grants and scholarships). This scholarship may be used for up to a lifetime total of 68 credit hours funded or $20,000 per student, whichever occurs first. Students may pursue more than one program, but are required to complete an eligible program within 36 months of the first semester they received their first award.
