7-12 DISTRICT WIDE ASSESSMENTS
The PreACT 8/9 is a multiple-choice assessment that provides 8th and 9th grad studets an early measure of College and Career Readiness while serving as a practice opportunity for the ACT test.
SES will test all 9th grade students.

Test Registration: Completed by Counseling Center.
Cost to Students: Free
The PSAT/NMSQT is a standardized test that 11th graders (and some 10th graders) take in October. Like the SAT, it measures the knowledge and skills in reading, writing, and math students learn int he classroom - the same knowledge and skills your child needs to succeed in college and career.
SES will test the top 25 11th graders based on cummulative GPA.

The ACT is an exam used by most colleges and universities to make admissions and scholarship decisions. It is a multiple-choice, pencil-and-paper testtthat covers four sections: English, Reading, Math, and Science. The purpose of the ACT test is to measure a high school student's readiness for college, and provide colleges with one common data point that can be used to compare all applicants.
SES will test all 11th grade students; students may opt out with parent/guardian approval.

ACT WorkKeys is an assessment that tests students' job skills in applied math, graphic literacy, and workplace documents. These are the areas that employers consider important for productivity and trainability. Scores are based on job profiles that help employers select, hire, train, develop and retain a high-performance workforce.
SES will test all 11th graders.

The Kansas Assessment Program (KAP) includes a variety of tests and other tools aligned to the Kansas statewide curriculum standards. KAP tests and tools are designed to support educators and policymakers in evaluating student learning, as well as to meet the requirements for federal and state accountability.
SES will test all 7th, 8th, 10th, and 11th graders in one or more subject areas.

mySAEBRS (my Social, Academic, and Emotional Behavior Risk Screener) is a brief, norm-referenced tool for screening all students to identify those who are at risk for social-emotional behavior (SEB) problems.
SES will test all 7th-12th grade students who have not opted out at enrollment.
SES Test Date: Once during Fall, Winter, and Spring
Test Location: SES Classrooms
Test Registration: Completed by Principal.
