Congratulations to Elliana! Elliana Smith has received a Silver Medal in the 2026 Scholastic Art and Writing Awards Competition at the National level. This is an honor given to a very small number of teens. Out of over 110,000 students who entered the Scholastic Art & Writing Awards, approximately 2% were recognized nationally. Elliana Smith is one of those.
As a Silver Medalist, Elliana's artwork will be posted on the Scholastic Art and Writing online gallery and it will be posted in Scholastic publications and the 2026 yearbook. This is the first time a Southeast of Saline student has received National recognition for their artwork as far as Mr. Krehbiel is aware and he has been at SES for 30 years.

It's concert time Thursday evening! The 3rd grade concert will begin at 6:30. Students should arrive at 6:15. The 4th grade concert will begin at 7:15. Students should arrive at 7:00. We hope to see you there!

The 8th grade College Tour was a success! They started their day at K-State Salina, it is a satellite college and they focus on Aerospace and Technology programs. Then, they spent their afternoon at Salina Area Technical College. One of the great things about this tour is that they get their first look at all of the programs that will be offered to them during their Junior/Senior year.

The SES College Tour starts this week with our 7th and 8th graders on Wednesday. The students will be gone all day, leaving around 8:15am and returning around 3:00pm.
7th graders will be eating for free at Cloud County Community College, or they may bring a sack lunch if they prefer.
8th graders need to either bring $10 to eat at K-State Salina, a sack lunch from home, or they can sign up to have SES make them a sack lunch.
We are excited for this opportunity for your students.
