JH Fall Vocal Concert date change.

This week is National School Bus Safety Week! This afternoon we will be conducting a bus evacuation drill to show students what to do in case of an emergency should the bus have to be evacuated. These drills - practiced on our campus - do take time and may cause slight delays. We appreciate your patience, as these drills are vital to proper bus education. Safety is our main priority both on and off the bus. You can help us with this process by talking with your student(s) about the right way to ride the bus. Thank you for your continued support in keeping our students safe while riding school transportation! We are very thankful for the individuals that work hard each day to keep our students safe to and from school. This week is a great opportunity for parents to remind their students of the responsibility they have to participate in their own school bus safety by following rules and respecting their bus drivers. Wednesday is Bus Driver Appreciation Day, SES thanks our bus drivers for caring about our students and transporting them safely every day.

Pink Out for Cancer fundraiser was an overwhelming success. Thanks to Jill and the student council for this benefit to Tammy Walker. Unfortunately much of the pink is covered by coats tonight.

Honoring the senior class tonight. Career record of 37-3 so far with more work to do.

A group of seniors toured Great Plains Manufacturing in Kipp and South Salina last week. They each have an opportunity to be a part of a new internship program that is being developed for 2nd semester. These students will have the opportunity to learn hands-on in the manufacturing industry. Upon completing their internship we anticipate they will earn scholarship money for post-secondary education and training.

This week in computer class the 1st graders got to code Bee Bots.

The Ned Show is coming to Southeast of Saline Elementary on Thursday, October 19th. The assembly will take place in the elementary gym at 9:00 am. NED's Mindset Mission is a character education program that centers around three important messages that have lifelong relevance: Never give up, Encourage others and Do your best. During the assembly, students will learn about the importance of these three life skills while also enjoying storytelling, magic, humor and yo-yo tricks.

JH NCAA VB Tournament tomorrow at SES. The Trojans are the #1 seed and will play at 10. Admission is $5 adult $3 K-12 students. No passes accepted.
