SES AfterProm will be having a wrap up meeting on Wednesday, April 20th at 6:30pm at The District Eat and Play in Salina Central Mall. All Junior and Senior parents are invited to provide feedback. All Sophomore parents are invited to learn and get started for next year.
KDOT public hearing over the K-4 improvement project has a good turnout.
The SES concert choir received a 1 rating at State Large group contest. The choir is pictured with their plaque, teacher, and accompanist. What a team, congrats!
Reminder that the KDOT will be hosting their second public meeting for feedback on the K-4 Improvement plan this afternoon in the SES HS commons. Please use the east doors. Come and go format to review the engineering plans and ask questions of the designers. 4:30 to 6:30
Due to the multiple weather closings/delays over the past month, the Elementary Art Show originally scheduled for tonight has been postponed. More information to follow.
2022-23 SES High School Spirit Squad Tryouts
Promenade is ready to start.
The Drop Off and Pick Up map has been updated. The West entrance has been discontinued for drop off so the map was updated to show drop off for student use of the north doors. We ask that students use the marked cross walk while in the parking lot. Some elementary student still exit the west doors, there are no changes for the exit points in the afternoon. Students should not arrive at school prior to 7:55.
Prom is Saturday, April 2nd
The Junior Class welcomes you to come and watch the Promenade beginning at 7:20pm in front of the Masonic Temple, 366 S Santa Fe. If attending, please do not park in the Temple parking lot as this will be used for the valet parking of student vehicles. We encourage parents to park down Santa Fe and across the street from the Temple. Entry into the Temple will be reserved for students attending prom and the sponsors.

We finally get to host the 3A State Music Festival again!!
For those of you who are new, this is a huge event that we are notoriously known for hosting very well...like most everything we do around here!! 😉
This event involves over 1500 students and about 100 adult volunteers. In addition to that, every SES high school music student is expected to help work at least one shift, and many JH music kids help as well. (The high school jobs aren't on this list)
This definitely requires a large workforce!
So, this is my first email to beg for adult volunteers!!

Job Descriptions
Room Monitor - supervise room, keep judge organized and happy, listen to performances
Door Keeper - welcome performers, organize rating sheets, keep schedule flowing, keep hall quiet
Roving Helper - roam around and help people find locations, etc
Gym Monitor - babysit....lol. Direct people to dressing rooms, bathrooms and practice rooms.
Parking Coordinator - ride a gator and help park buses, etc
Hospitality Room - keep teachers, bus drivers, accompanists and judges fed and watered and happy with the best snacks and lunch EVER!!!
Candy Concession supervisor - supervise students selling candy, pop, etc. Make sure we don't get robbed blind...help with math, etc
Kitchen Concession worker - prepare, serve and clean up food for concessions, help organize student workers doing the same.
Cash Register - work outside kitchen concession calculating and collecting money
Clean up - put rooms back in order...move pianos, stands, chairs, desks, etc.

Southeast of Saline is looking for a permanent addition to our Food Services team. Immediate opening, full time during school days, benefits qualified. Work the same days as your own children are in school. Contact the district office for details. Application on school website under district tab.
5-8 Band Concert
- Tuesday, April 5th
- HS Lower Gym
- Students will need to be seated in their spots in the lower gym, with instruments and music, by 6:50 pm.
- Concert starts at 7:00 pm.
Madz open tonight’s Liberty game by singing the anthem. Sparklers perform at halftime.
Disc Golf course at Southeast is OPEN for public use. 12 hole course starts in the North East corner of the parking lot. Please avoid the track but feel free to use the disc golf course this weekend.
Track facility is closed Saturday and Sunday at SES as contractors come out to repaint the lines. Southeast will be hosting a few meets this year and can always use volunteers to run field events. If you are interested in helping please contact Mr. Korf.

We are having a Pep bus (or two) today to go support the SES Lady Trojans!
There will be three pick up locations - pick the one that is best for you.
Pick up at 1:15 in Gypsum - Main Street in front of the fire station.
Catch the bus at SES - on east side at 1:30
Pick up in Assaria at the city building/community center leaving there at 1:45.
Everyone needs to sign up on the google doc that will be shared in a few minutes. Even if you were signed up before - do it again. We are starting new.
