Southeast of Saline Elementary staff knocked it out of the park this week! We are so proud of all they have done to get students off on the right foot! #oneteamonedream

Support SES Student Council and get your car cleaned and buy a treat from the bake sale! Saturday, August 20th from 10:00am - 2:00pm. Details on attached photo.

School meals are being served and charges are being assessed. It is not too late to apply for meal cost assistance by visiting our website, under the Parent Tab. If qualified for assistance, it applies to both lunch and breakfast. More information can be found at this link: https://www.usd306.org/page/applying-for-school-meal-program

The work has reached the front entrance. Good news is they will be well past us by the time school lets out today. Expect pilot car delays when approaching or leaving on the westside for the next week or more.

K-4 milling has reached Cunningham Road on the east side of the campus. It is likely that they will cross in front of the building tomorrow. I have been given concessions from KDOT that they will do their best to avoid the start and release times tomorrow while they are in front of our building. Milling will continue west next week so expect delays next week if approaching from the west side. Overlay will start next week in Gypsum and move west so both directions will expect delays for at least a week or more.

Booster Club spirit wear store is now open!

The Governor announced on Monday the KDOT projects that have been approved to proceed and the K-4 Reconstruction and Alignment from Kipp Road to the River Bridge was included. Construction to start in 2024.

School is starting!!! Expect delays on K-4 east of the school for the next few weeks. Construction is currently located near Kipp Road. Allow for extra time and please drive carefully.

Southeast of Saline is still taking applications for transportation positions. Drive a car with students, no CDL required. Drive a daily route bus with students, CDL training provided. Drive a bus to games, CDL training provided. It takes time to get your endorsement so if you have ever considered getting a CDL then lets get started now. It is a great part time job while you farm, while you run your own business, while you are retired. Benefits possible depending on hours worked.

K-4 overlay project started this morning in Gypsum. There was a flagman near the intersection of Kipp Road and K-4 this morning. Expect delays of around 15 minutes over the next two weeks or more if approaching school from the east. Please be extra careful if using the backroads to bypass the construction as conditions and traction on those roads can be unpredictable. Allow for extra time. School starts at 8:10 for secondary and 8:15 for elementary this Wednesday. Tonight is Elementary Meet the Teacher night and 7th grade orientation.

SES High School Football Team shirt store is available until midnight August 21st. The orders will arrive at school on Thursday, September 1st. If you have questions, please contact Angie Gebhardt at agebhardt@usd306.org.

Internet if a vital part of schooling. The attached flier describes a program to help families get connected.

Teachers will report back to school this week and students will come back the following week. The excitement for a new year is growing and it is time to start preparing for the first day of school.
Enrollment is now complete. If you have not completed this process please call the building as soon as possible. If a secondary student has a schedule change can follow the directions shared by Mrs. Haden by email or call the counseling center and schedule an appointment. Students are allowed to change courses within the first week of classes but it is best to resolve this prior to the first day if possible.
We are returning to a staggered schedule for this year.
School starts at 8:10 for secondary students and releases at 3:15.
School starts at 8:15 for elementary students and releases at 3:20.
The traffic pattern is largely unchanged from last year with students able to be dropped off at the north or east doors according to grade level. Parents should not release students to enter the building until the buses have begun to release students at 7:55. It is also very important that students use the sidewalks and crosswalk whenever possible. Children walking between cars are difficult to see and we want to keep everyone safe.
Reminder that meals have returned to full charge so a conversation will need to be had in your household about whether or not to have breakfast in the building and whether or not a secondary student is allowed to purchase extras. Fees and Lunch balances can be found on the powerschool app once enrollment documents have been processed. There are a variety of methods for payments including credit card with a service fee, automatic withdrawal from a checking account, or simply a check mailed or delivered to our food service secretary. Students are not allowed to run a negative balance so it is important that these discussions happen and balances are tracked.
Follow us on Facebook, download our app, subscribe to the district calendar, and bookmark our website. We will try to communicate with you as much as possible. Our goal is to make this the best school year ever.

Enrollment Deadline is Wednesday August 3. Directions can be found on our website. Please call the building if you need assistance.
Thank you for completing this process as we work to get students assigned to classes and bus routes for the coming year.

August 11th @ 6:30pm in the theater there will be a representative from Salina Regional educating the athletes on Concussion and heat illness. This is required by KSHSAA and before you can participate in any practice.
If you are unable to attend, you will be required to take the online course. Links are attached on the physical packets.
Physicals are also required in the office before the first practice of any sport. Fall sports deadline is August 12, 2022. First day of practice will be August 15, 2022.
