Karlee Zurfluh has been chosen as our May Athlete of the Month at Southeast of Saline High School. Karlee is a junior at SES and the daughter of Angel and Lance Zurfluh. Her favorite thing about SES is the community that we have. She loves all the crowds that we have at any of our events. Her nominator stated that “she has started the spring season as a true standout, making an incredible impact in every aspect of the game. In her most recent doubleheader, she delivered a perfect game on the mound, then dominated at the plate with both an in-the-park home run and an over-the-fence grand slam, an all-around performance that is hard to match. Beyond her impressive physical abilities, Karlee brings positivity to the team, always encouraging her teammates and helping create an environment where everyone can come together and have fun.” Karlee’s greatest achievement has been throwing three straight no-hitters in softball and hitting 200 strikeouts. She is also very proud that she has made NHS and qualifying for state in wrestling. Aside from softball and wrestling, Karlee is involved in science club and publications. In the future, she plans to play softball somewhere while majoring in sports administration and agencies. Her advice to others to get involved is to “go out of your comfort zone and be social with others.” Congratulations Karlee!
