Staff Member of the Month - May

Mr. Gebhardt has been selected as our May Staff Member of the Month for Southeast of Saline.  Mr. Gebhardt teaches PE and coaches football at SES and has spent his last 18 years at SES.  Overall, Mr. Gebhardt has taught for 32 years.  He received his bachelor’s degree in Health and Human Performance along with his master degree in leadership from Fort Hays State University His favorite thing about SES is the people.  The community, students and staff are all great.  He says he feels blessed to have spent the last 18 years at Southeast of Saline.  “Go Trojans!”  Students nominated Mr. Gebhardt and they said “he should be teacher of the month because he is very caring about his students and players, he makes sure you get your stuff done while also challenging you. He has been a great coach that encourages his team but also holds them accountable. He always makes everyone feel welcomed and is very kind and uplifting to everyone he meets. I think that Mr. Gebhardt should be the staff member of the month of May. He is always very constructive and caring about his students and his players. He makes you push yourself and do things that you didn't even think were possible or didn't want to do. He always finds a new way to start off the day and wears the most amazing shirts. He has had an amazing career as a teacher and especially as a coach, going 129-40 over his years of coaching football. I believe he should deserve staff member as a coach due to him retiring and as an honor to him and his legendary career.”  Mr. Gebhardt is retiring this year and plans to spend some more time with his family that includes his wife Angie and sons Jaxson, Luke, Jacob and Grady.  His final messages to students is “Give it Heck!  If you are going to do something, go all in.  Think of solutions, not problems.  Put a smile on and be positive.”  Congratulations Mr. Gebhardt, you will be missed!
