USD 306 Southeast of Saline

Stephanie Mettlen is our staff member of the month for September. Mrs. Mettlen is our new counselor at SES and has hit the ground running. This is her first year at SES, but 15th overall in education. Her favorite thing about SES is the people! Everyone has been so welcoming and the tremendous school pride shines in all that we do. "It's truly a special place to be a part of." Mrs. Mettlen received her Master of School Counseling degree from Forth Hays State along with her Masters in Education. She attended Hastings College for her undergraduate and was awarded a Bachelor of Art in Biology. Her greatest achievement is turning a 0-19 softball team into a state qualifier in three years. She is also very proud of completing a triathlon. Both of those achievements reflected perseverance and determination. Mrs. Mettlen's family keeps her life fun and busy! Her husband Clay is also in education and they have two children. JD is a 4th grader at SES and he loves running, Greek Mythology and creating stories her her spicy 4 year old daughter is always dancing her way through the day. Her message to students is to "Learn every day and share kindness along the way." Congrats Mrs. Mettlen!
